Metro Richmond Pet Savers is a coalition of local rescue groups, shelters and educational organizations that have teamed up to reduceMetro Richmond Pet Savers is a coalition of local rescue groups, shelters and educational organizations that have teamed up to reduce euthanasia rates in our municipal shelters. Each month the coalition selects a government shelter as its partner and the participating groups transfer as many animals out of that shelter as they can reasonably accommodate. On the second Saturday of each month MRPS members gather in the parking lot of a designated PetSmart store and present massive Adopt-a-Thons. Over 150 dogs and cats are available for adoption at these events.
