WE ARE A "RESCUE OF LAST RESORT" 
Many dogs have come through and found their special place and people, but many have not. It is the mission of Houlagans' Rest to be the rescue of last resort. We save and prepare for adoption, dogs that have been rejected by others and are scheduled to be euthanized. This website is dedicated to help those dogs find their "forever homes".

Due to Father's Day on Sunday, we will not have our adoption event. INSTEAD WE WILL HAVE AN ADOPTION EVENT ON SATURDAY, JUNE 15 FROM 12-3 AT THE PETCO AT WESTCHESTER COMMONS. Westchester Commons shopping center is on route 60 west just beyond the 288 interchange.

March 1, 2013 marks the start of our Lucky Dog Program! This program will allow for our supporters who are unable to adopt to "virtually adopt"! On each dog's picture, there will be a link where you can become their sponsor. Being a sponsor means that your donation will provide basic medical care, toys, food, and other basic necessities to your dog of choice. In return you will receive picture updates on how your Lucky Dog is doing until he or she is adopted.
We wanted to start this program in hopes of attracting attention to some of our long term residents. There are many dogs who have been with us for well over a year, over looked by potential adopters. This doesn't mean they aren't great dogs, they just haven't found the right family yet. Though we love all of our Houlagans' dearly, we want each of them to find the perfect forever home. Some just need a little more help along the way. We are working on getting sponsorship links on every photo, but if there is not a link there yet and you want to sponsor that dog, let us know and we will hook you up right away!
